Thanks for visiting heard-words.com. My name’s Jermaine. I’m 28 and live in Chicago I’m 29 and live in New York City where I work in IT for a television show. I have a very flexible schedule and try to see as much live music as I can. In 2008, one of my favorite bands, Portishead, announced they were playing at Coachella. This was their first live show in the States in ten years and I’d vowed to do whatever it took to see them should they come to the states. My roommate and I bought one-day passes and embarked on a two day greyhound bus journey from Chicago to Indio, Ca. The experience was both fulfilling and frustrating. Once we got there it was all worth it. Take a look at the photo evidence below. From there I was hooked. Not only did I get to see Portishead. But I also got turned onto new acts I’d never heard of such as The Bird and the Bee, Man Man, and MGMT. Add to that the fact I got to see Death Cab for Cutie, Kraftwerk and Prince all from 4th row center on those beautiful polo fields!

Now I’m music-obsessed and ain’t sorry ’bout it. The first thing I did when I got back to Chicago was buy a Lollapalooza ticket. Last year I went to my first full Coachella, Bonnaroo, and Lollapalooza. I also saw the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Nine Inch Nails, and Man Man, Major Lazer, Kid Cudi, Crookers, Crystal Castles and Simian Mobile Disco separately. So far this year I’ve seen Mos Def, Doom and St. Vincent and planning for another triple festival repeat.

I started heard-words.com because the only thing I love more than music is sharing it with friends. I’m blessed enough to say that I have many friends, so this music blog is the best way for me to communicate efficiently with many people. Expect photos from concerts, album and track reviews, news, rants, videos, etc.
